Rep. Tammy Nuccio, R-Tolland, recently attended Lake Street School in Vernon and Center Elementary School in Willington for Read Across America Week, which is an opportunity to promote literacy and reading within local schools.

The National Education Association launched Read Across America in 1998 as a year-round program to celebrate reading.

Dr. Seuss’ birthday was March 2 and was declared Read Across America Day, which kicks off Read Across America Week and Read Across America Month.

Bipartisan Proposal Offers Small Businesses Affordable Health Insurance Options

HARTFORD – A coalition of business groups, chambers of commerce, and non-profit organizations today joined a bipartisan group of lawmakers to support legislation offering healthcare relief for struggling Connecticut small businesses.

HB 6710 allows small employers to pool together to jointly purchase large group health insurance plans directly from a carrier, making health insurance more affordable and accessible.

Small employers with less than 51 employees cannot currently access the large group

HARTFORD – Rep. Tammy Nuccio, R-Tolland, joined her House and Senate Republican colleagues in offering a comprehensive package of policy proposals to reduce the cost of electric bills and make energy more affordable over the long term.
