Rep. Tammy Nuccio, R-Tolland, recently attended Lake Street School in Vernon and Center Elementary School in Willington for Read Across America Week, which is an
opportunity to promote literacy and reading within local schools.
The National Education Association launched Read Across America in 1998 as a year-round program to celebrate reading.
Dr. Seuss’ birthday was March 2 and was declared Read Across America Day, which kicks off Read Across America Week and Read Across America Month.
