Reps. Tammy Nuccio and Tim Ackert to Host ‘Street Takeover’ Forum in Tolland

TOLLAND – The public is invited to the Tolland Middle School on June 8 at 7 p.m. to discuss the recent “street takeover” that occurred in Tolland. As you may know, the incident, which included more than a 100 people taking over an intersection, surrounding and damaging vehicles, and launching fireworks, was greatly concerning.

Connecticut State Police will be in attendance to discuss the response to that incident, listen to the concerns of all residents and talk about what they are doing in its aftermath.

VERNON – Rep. Tammy Nuccio, R-Tolland, was recently invited to Maple Street School in Vernon to take part in the school’s Career Day.

Rep. Nuccio said it was great to spend some time with the class and take some questions about what it’s like to work at the Capitol.

HARTFORD – Rep. Tammy Nuccio, R-Tolland, was invited to the Eastern CT Veterans Community Center on Tuesday evening to present service awards to area veterans who have gone above and beyond in their volunteer efforts.

Rep. Tammy Nuccio, R-Tolland, recently attended Lake Street School in Vernon and Center Elementary School in Willington for Read Across America Week, which is an opportunity to promote literacy and reading within local schools.

The National Education Association launched Read Across America in 1998 as a year-round program to celebrate reading.

Bipartisan Proposal Offers Small Businesses Affordable Health Insurance Options

HARTFORD – A coalition of business groups, chambers of commerce, and non-profit organizations today joined a bipartisan group of lawmakers to support legislation offering healthcare relief for struggling Connecticut small businesses.

HB 6710 allows small employers to pool together to jointly purchase large group health insurance plans directly from a carrier, making health insurance more affordable and accessible.

Small employers with less than 51 employees cannot currently access the large group
