TOLLAND – Rep. Tammy Nuccio, R-Tolland, recently served as a guest speaker at Troop C in Tolland during the unveiling and dedication of an Eagle Scout project created by John Sleeman, a Boy Scout with Troop 15 in Tolland.
John dedicated his community service project to building an obstacle course where local police K-9s, including State Police K-9 Drago (pictured here) can train and practice. John put in countless hours of labor on the project for 10 months with his team, developing a plan to build the obstacle course, collect donations, construct the course, coordinate with State Police as well as local utilities and business owners, and then direct his fellow scouts to excavate and develop the site
Rep. Nuccio joined several Connecticut State Police troopers, members of Troop 15 and parents for the ceremony, which was the culmination of John’s hard work and dedication to the community.
“This was a terrific project for John to take on. It helps our local troopers and it’s a learning project that gives back to residents at the same time,” Rep. Nuccio said. “A big thank you to John, his team and all the local businesses who contributed to this project to help John reach his goal – he could not have done it without you!”
