EAST GRANBY – On July 13th, State Rep. Tami Zawistowski (R-61) celebrated that the National Parks Service (NPS) announced $10 million in grants from funding through the Semiquincentennial Grant Program commemorating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. The grant program was created by Congress in 2020 and is funded through the Historic Preservation Fund (HPF).

East Granby will receive $750,000 from NPS to support the rehabilitation of Viets’ Tavern across from Old Newgate Prison

EAST GRANBY – Old New Gate Prison and Copper Mine celebrated the completion of its renovation on June 18.

HARTFORD – On March 10th, State Representative Tami Zawistowski (R-61) invited two youth sportsmen to Hartford to testify in a public hearing before the legislature’s Environment Committee. Both students spoke on HB 1149 – An Act Eliminating All Restrictions on Sunday Hunting on Public and Private Property in support of permitting Sunday hunting in Connecticut.

SUFFIELD — On Friday, February 10th, State Representative Tami Zawistowski (R-61) took time to partner local public schools with career and volunteer first responders in Suffield. Students from Spaulding Elementary in Suffield were asked to design handmade Valentines to be delivered to police officers, firefighters, and ambulance service workers in town.
