Memorial Day arrives this weekend, and it is a time to reflect on the service of those who answered our nation’s call in times of armed conflict, and made the ultimate sacrifice to ensure future generations of Americans would remain free.
Below is a list of some important events happening in our district this weekend to commemorate this national holiday.
MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND 2019
North Haven
Saturday, May 25th
9:00 a.m. – Memorial Day dedication on the North Haven Town Green.
10:30 a.m. – Memorial Day parade steps off at Bailey Road and ends at the North Haven Town Hall.
11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. – Annual Memorial Day Collection Drive and Touch-A-Truck at the North Haven Fire Department located at 11 Broadway.
There will be a ‘Humvee’ on the premises to collect items, which will be donated to Columbus House in New Haven, an organization that helps homeless veterans throughout Connecticut by providing shelter and services to give them a fresh start.
