I had a wonderful time visiting Judson School and Maloney Magnet School in honor of Read Across America! A special thanks to our faculty and staff for the amazing work they do each day. Additionally, I want to thank both Boards of Education in Watertown and Waterbury for the invite and welcome.

“Bad Bills” and Dangerous Legislation in the Housing Committee

Yesterday, the Housing Committee voted to pass a series of bad bills, including one especially dangerous piece of legislation – HB 5242 – which would restrict a housing provider from accessing the criminal background of a prospective tenant. I am outraged by this proposal, but further I am worried of the ramifications it may have, endangering the public safety of women, children, and tenants across Connecticut.

2024 Legislative Session Begins

HARTFORD — On Wednesday, February 7th, State Rep. Joe Polletta returned to the State Capitol in Hartford to open the 2024 Legislative Session. Members of the House of Representatives and Senate were welcomed back to renew their commitment to serving the people of Connecticut. Governor Lamont joined a joint legislature in the House Chamber to deliver his annual budget address and outline his vision and priorities for this session.
