A Heat Advisory has been issued for Windham County and all of Connecticut. For our area, the Heat Advisory is in effect until 7:00 P.M. on June 30th. The National Weather Service in Boston, MA has issued this advisory for heat index values between 98F and 104F through Wednesday afternoon.

HARTFORD– On Tuesday evening, State Representatives Anne Dauphinais (R-44th) and Rick Hayes (R-51st) voted against H.B. No. 6684, An Act Concerning A Highway Use Fee , a new highway use tax on trucks that food and trucking industry advocates say will increase the costs of goods and services in Connecticut.

Until the passage of S.B. No. 1019, a person seeking to erase their criminal record would be required to stand before the Boards of Pardons & Parole. While not perfect, the individual with the criminal record would make a case as to why they deserved an erasure of their record. This would include demonstrating that they have taken responsibility for their mistake and have since remained in good standing in society.

Improving the Boards of Pardons & Paroles would have been far more prudent then this

It has been a very busy few weeks at the State Capitol as we head toward the June 9th conclusion of regular session. There have been many bills that have come before us and I wanted to update you on some of the most concerning that we have had to vote on. We are back in session today in the House of Representatives, but I wanted to point out a bill that saw hours of debate last Tuesday evening. Area Lawmakers to Host Virtual Town Hall Tuesday

Sen. Heather Somers, R-18th District, Rep. Anne Dauphinais, R-44th District, and Rep. Brian Lanoue, R-45th District will hold a virtual town hall meeting on Tuesday, Apr. 13 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The legislators are expected to discuss key policy issues being debated in the General Assembly and take questions from taxpayers.

HARTFORD- On Wednesday, the Public Health Committee voted to send two identical pieces of legislation to the House and Senate which would eliminate the religious exemption for vaccinations for school-aged children, college students and children in daycare; arguably one of the most controversial issues ever in front of the legislature.
