HARTFORD – Rep. Lezlye Zupkus, R-Prospect, recently shared her experiences as a lawmaker with students from TeenPact, which inspires youth and trains them to understand the political process, with an emphasis on liberty and the Christian faith.
Students come from across Connecticut, even the country, take part in the program, and this year’s class included a student from Rep. Zupkus’ former home state of Mississippi.
After Rep. Zupkus shared a bit about her work as a state representative, the students showcased their knowledge of the political process with many thoughtful questions that took on the ethical issues that legislators must consider on a daily basis.
The TeenPact Leadership School was founded in 1993 by Tim Echols following inspiration to from a morning prayer meeting at the Georgia State Capitol to educate youth on the political process.
