State Rep. David Rutigliano: Installation of Slow and Speed Shoulder Rumble Strips in Bridgeport, Trumbull, Shelton Wallingford, Stratford and Milford

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a rumble strip installation project will be performed in Bridgeport, Trumbull, Shelton Wallingford, Stratford and Milford.

The project consists of 185,656 linear feet of rumble strip installation of the Route 8 Bridgeport-Trumbull, Route 8 Bridgeport, Route 8 Shelton, Route 25 Trumbull, Interstate 91 Wallingford, Interstate 95 Stamford, Interstate 95 Stratford, and Interstate 95 Milford. See Attachment for Termini’s.

This project is scheduled to occur Monday, March 6, 2023, through Friday March 17, 2023. The Rumble Strip Installation segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Monday, March 6, 2022, through Friday, March 17, 2023. 

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 8 Bridgeport South Bound from Route 25 merge to exit 27 A 95 North Bound ramp, Route 8 Bridgeport-Trumbull North Bound from Capital Ave overpass to Route 15 North Bound overpass, Route 8 North Bound & South Bound Shelton form exit 13 on ramp to exit 15 off ramp, Route 8 South Bound Bridgeport from exit 7 off ramp to Route 25 Merge, Route 25 North Bound & South Bound from Whitney Ave. overpass to Route 111 main Street, Interstate 91 South Bound Wallingford from New Rock Hill Road overpass to Exit 11 on ramp North Haven, Interstate 95 North Bound & South Bound Stratford from Church Street overpass to Route 113 overpass, Interstate 95 North Bound & South Bound Stamford from Greenwich Ave. overpass to Seaside Ave exit, Interstate 95 North Bound & South Bound Milford from exit 34 off ramp to exit 35 on ramp.  Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The night work schedule for this project is 7:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Monday night through Friday morning)

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
