Rep. Fishbein, Cheshire Delegation Honor Cheshire Town Scholar Kavin Kathir

State Representatives Craig Fishbein and Lezlye Zupkus, and State Senators Len Suzio and Joe Markley invited 2018 Cheshire Town Scholar Kavin Kathir to tour the Capitol and presented him with an official state citation recognizing his recent accomplishment.

Kavin, an 8th grader from St. Bridget’s School, recently did a science project – “Trash to Treasure: A Sustainable Approach to Oil Spill Cleanup” – which won 10 awards at the 70th annual Connecticut Science & Engineering Fair.

Kavin was joined by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kathir, St. Bridget’s Principal Jennifer Furlong, Vice Principal Judy Rowinski, Deputy Superintendent of Catholic Schools (Archdiocese of Hartford), Mrs. Maria Maynard, and Maria Zone, of the Arcdiocese of Hartford.
