Lawmaker Recognized by Connecticut’s Leading Business Organization

HARTFORD –The Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA) has recently released their ‘State House Voting Records’ annual report for 2023 and State Representative Devin Carney (R-23) has received a 100% score for his votes on key bills that impact Connecticut’s economic growth and business climate.

The Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA) ranked all state lawmakers based on their support for the business community’s positions on 10 important policies. Votes that support the business community’s position would reflect positively, while votes against would result in a lowered score. The bills all affect job creation, small business growth and economic stability in Connecticut.

“I have always supported small businesses in the 23rd District and the State of Connecticut,” said Rep. Carney. “To me, our future relies on allowing innovators, entrepreneurs, and businesspeople the flexibility and opportunity to be successful and to create good-paying jobs. It is vital that we do everything we can to support growth and a strong economy. I am very proud to receive this score from CBIA.”

CBIA’s policy initiatives feature in a number of the bills, with those recommendations designed to help alleviate the high cost of insurance, increase workforce development, and create and retain jobs. They are Connecticut’s leading business organization – with a membership comprised of hundreds of small, medium and large-sized businesses around the state.
