Candelora Statement on Democrats’ Failure to Hold Public Health Emergency Committee Meeting

“Democrats today provided the clearest indication yet that they have no interest in helping the Governor guide this state toward recovery. Their outrageous decision to avoid convening a meeting of the Public Health Emergency Committee comes with well-worn political tropes designed to mischaracterize our reasonable request for a discussion about moving the legislature to a place where it can collaborate with the Governor in managing our state’s pandemic response. I’m shocked by their eagerness to let Governor Lamont maintain his unfettered control of the state’s affairs, and I’m disappointed for the many Connecticut residents and business owners who over and over feel the brunt of the majority party’s arrogance.”
