Candelora Lauds Efforts of Building Homes for Heroes, which secured East Haven home for Purple Heart recipient

House Republican Leader Vincent Candelora was among the many people who participated in a truly special event Saturday in East Haven, where U.S. Army veteran and Purple Heart recipient Evan Marcy received the keys to a mortgage-free home provided by the nonprofit organization Building Homes for Heroes. Evan is the son of a retired NYC firefighter, Duane Marcy, who participated in search and rescue efforts at Ground Zero. The home he received is the 343rd provided through the organization’s efforts and a tribute to the 343 firefighters who died in the attacks.
