House Republicans Ask to Suspend Electricity Rate Hike

HARTFORD – House Republicans joined their Democratic colleagues in a bi-partisan call for Eversource to suspend its recently enacted electricity rate hikes. House Republican Leader Themis Klarides, Deputy Leader Vincent Candelora, and Rep. Charles Ferraro, the highest-ranking Republican on the Energy & Technology Committee, helped author the letter.

HARTFORD – The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is closely monitoring an outbreak of respiratory disease caused by a novel (new) coronavirus (COVID-19) that was first detected in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China. HARTFORD – State Representative Jay Case (R-63) and Brian Ohler (R-64) voted on a provision to add funding the elderly and disabled Renters Rebate Program at the State Capitol on Wednesday afternoon.

Rep. Ohler went on to say, “I am pleased to see the Renters Rebate Program has been reinstated and kept whole. It was disingenuous for the state to withhold this critical piece of funding for our elderly and low income populace without any proper notification.”
