SUFFIELD – State Representative Tami Zawistowski (R-61) in partnership with Suffield Community Aid, the Suffield Police and Highland Park Market hosted a successful ‘Stuff a Cruiser’ drive to benefit students in need. The event was held at the Suffield Highland Park Market on Saturday morning on August 3rd.

“As always, I am truly impressed with the generosity of Suffield residents,” said Rep. Zawistowski. “I am proud that we were able to build on last year’s successful ‘Stuff-a-Humvee’ and collect much need supplies for Suffield Community Aid.”

By the end of the drive the Suffield Police cruiser was completely filled with note pads, pencils, rulers, backpacks, lunch box items, other needed supplies and nearly $2,500 in monetary donations. Additionally, Highland Park Market offered prepared donation bags for purchase filled with school supplies sold at cost. The grocery store also made a $1,500 donation to Suffield Community Aid.

Rep. Zawistowski added, “This collection would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of Suffield Community Aid, the Suffield Police, Highland Park Market and the tremendous outpouring of community support.”

Suffield Community Aid – formerly Suffield Emergency Aid Association – is a local non-profit founded in 1903 to provide social services and programs for residents in need. For more information please visit www.suffieldcommunityaid.org.
