SOMERS – State Rep. Kurt Vail (R-Stafford) recently delivered valentines day cards to Somers veterans. The cards were created by local students, with hand-written notes to each recipient about the impact of their service on the community.
“This was a great gesture by our students, to thank our veterans for what they’ve done for our country. Our community’s veteran population really appreciated receiving the cards on Valentine’s Day,” said Rep. Vail, who serves as the Ranking Member of the Veterans and Military Affairs Committee.
Students from Woodstock Elementary School, West Stafford School, Stafford Elementary School, and Somers Elementary School, participated in the Valentine’s Day event.
