HARTFORD – The House of Representatives convened for session on Wednesday, April 9th, to take action on several items – including the reappointment of Chairman Marissa Gillett of PURA.
“I voted against the reappointment of Marissa Paslick Gillett to PURA today. I hear you—rates are too high, and her decisions have directly contributed to those increases. Right now, PURA is holding up over $200 million in credits that Eversource wants to return to customers. On top of that, new reports show rising costs for low-income subsidies, funded by other ratepayers. I’m committed to standing up for fair rates and greater transparency,” said Rep. Vail.
The House, despite Vail’s opposition, went on to approve the Chairman’s reappointment. However, to date, the Senate has not taken concurring action.
