HARTFORD – The 2017 Legislative Session of the Connecticut General Assembly convened Wednesday morning at the State Capitol. State Representative Kurt Vail was officially sworn in to his second term representing the 52nd Assembly District, which is comprised of Stafford and Somers.

Rep. Vail has been re-assigned to serve on the General Assembly’s Insurance & Real Estate, Public Safety, and Labor & Public Employees Committees by House Republican leadership.

“Representing the people of Stafford and Somers is truly a great honor, I look forward to bringing your voice back to Hartford over the next two years,” said Rep. Vail. “This session I will focus on alleviating the massive state budget deficit and prioritizing state spending to ensure that resources, like town aid and education funds, are available.”

The General Assembly’s 2017 Legislative Session will last for a five-month period, with adjournment on Wednesday, June 7.
