HARTFORD – On Thursday evening State Representative Kurt Vail (R-Stafford) attended the induction ceremony for the Connecticut Veterans Hall of Fame. Somers resident, David Paul McCaffrey (U.S. Navy), was inducted at the ceremony. Vail was joined by a coalition of Somers veterans to recognize McCaffery’s achievement.

“It was inspiring to see the class of veterans be forever ensconced in our state’s hall of fame. These are the men and women who put everything on the line so that you and I can enjoy our freedom,” said Vail, who serves as the Ranking Member to the legislature’s Veterans committee.

According to the Dept. of Veteran Affairs, the CT Hall of Fame was established to increase awareness of the lifetime contributions of veterans after the completion of honorable military service. To be eligible, a nominee must have served their communities, state and nation after discharge.
