Vail Achieves Perfect Voting Record on Environmental Legislation

SOMERS – State Representative Kurt Vail achieved a 100% voting record in support of legislation aimed at preserving and improving the state’s environment, according to the Connecticut League of Conservation Voter’s 2015 Scorecard (CTLCV).
CTLCV, a fact checking bi-partisan non-profit organization, produces this score card on an annual basis. Legislation is categorized and scored based on a priority “watchlist.” The scores on the report card are based on votes taken in various legislative committees and on the House floor.
Rep. Vail supported various pieces of legislation that were identified on the CTLCV’s priority list when they came to the House floor for consideration. His action on these bills helped preserve open space, implement a Long Island blue plan, and incentivize residential solar energy.
“Preserving open space and plotting the Long Island Sound blue plan go a long way in ensuring two of the state’s greatest assets are protected,” explained Rep. Vail. “I also recently toured Somers Solar Center and will continue to educate myself on energy usage and it’s overall impact to the environment. I look forward to support future legislation aimed at reducing our energy costs.”
A little over one-third of the 151 members of the House achieved CTLCV’s perfect record.
