HARTFORD – The Somers High School Lady Spartans basketball team earned the Class “S” State Championship title. On Wednesday, State Representative Kurt Vail welcomed the team to the State Capitol.
“Congratulations to the Somers High School women’s basketball team on a great season! The Lady Spartans won the Class S State Championship by a final score of 56-43, defeating Thomaston. It was their first title since 1977! I had the honor of welcoming the team to the House of Representatives during their visit to the Capitol this afternoon. Best of luck to our graduating Seniors and all who are returning for another championship run next season,” said Vail.
