Do you know a veteran who continues to make a positive impact in their community long after hanging up their uniform? Now is your chance to help recognize their ongoing service.
Nominations are being accepted for the 2025 Connecticut Veterans Hall of Fame, a distinguished honor that celebrates veterans from the state who have gone above and beyond in their civilian lives. Nominations are being accepted through September 15, 2025.
Established in 2005, the Connecticut Veterans Hall of Fame is more than just a recognition of military service—it’s a tribute to those who continue to lead, inspire, and uplift after returning to civilian life. Inductees have demonstrated exceptional contributions in areas like education, public service, community involvement, the arts, business, and more.
Who Is Eligible?
To qualify for nomination:
- The veteran must have been born in Connecticut or have resided in the state for at least five years.
- They must meet the legal definition of a “veteran” under Connecticut General Statutes § 27-103.
- The nominee must have received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Armed Forces.
- Most importantly, their community service must have occurred after their military service.
How to Nominate a Veteran
To nominate a veteran, you’ll need to submit a completed nomination package by September 15, 2025. The package must include:
- The official nomination form
- The veteran’s discharge documents
- A detailed narrative outlining the veteran’s public or community service

Celebrating Lifelong Service
The Connecticut Veterans Hall of Fame currently includes 215 inductees, including five Congressional Medal of Honor recipients. Each year, honorees are selected by a committee composed of state officials, veterans, and members of the General Assembly’s Veterans and Military Affairs Committee.
