Behind the Vail goes to Horse Ridge Cellars (HRC), located in the rural hills of Stafford Springs. HRC is home to some of the world’s rarest and oldest wines. Built as a vault to hold secure documents during the Cold War, this underground vault stays at a consistent 55 degree temperature year round.

Guarded by a 12 ton, 19 inch thick steel vault door – the facility could withstand an indirect hit from a nuclear warhead. HRC acquired the property in the year 2000 and have been expanding on the original 10,000 square foot structure to keep up with client needs.
