State Representative Piscopo and State Senators Witkos and Martin to Hold Worn American Flag Collection Drive

In anticipation of Flag Day, observed on the 14th of June, State Representative John Piscopo, State Senators Kevin Witkos and Henri Martin will hold a flag collection drive so that residents can properly dispose of their worn, tattered, and faded American Flags.

Residents are encouraged to utilize flag collection boxes located at:
• Thomaston Town Hall, 158 Main Street, Thomaston
• Harwinton Town Hall, 100 Bentley Drive, Harwinton
• Burlington Town Hall, 200 Speilman Highway, Burlington

Drop-offs should be made with respect to the business hours for each town hall office:
Thomaston: Monday – Wednesday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Friday 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Harwinton: Monday – Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Fridays: 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Burlington: Monday – Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Fridays: 8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

The flag collection drive will continue until Friday, June 11th. All flags collected will be properly retired according to the U.S. Flag Code. The flag collection drive will be followed by a burning ceremony scheduled for Monday, June 14, 2021 at 10 a.m. at the Thierry Property located at 145 Litchfield Road in Harwinton.
