4-H Uconn Students Visit, Fire Service Day, and Veterans Organization Recognized at the Capitol

HARTFORD – The House was in session on Wednesday, April 17, and Thursday, April 18. To review all of the legislation that was considered please click on the corresponding date and you will be provided with the House Journal.

On Wednesday, students enrolled in UConn’s 4-H program came to visit the capitol. This program is important for individuals who are interested in growing a career in agriculture. Rep. Piscopo had the opportunity to meet with enrollees and learn more about their course of studies.

Thursday was Fire Service Day at the Capitol. Departments from across the state, including Thomaston, were on hand to talk about resources and legislation that impacts them. The men and women who serve as firefighters in the 76th District and beyond are true heroes.

Donna Dognin was recognized at the Capitol during Thursday’s session for her work with Bristol’s Veterans Strong Community Center (VSCC). Dognin is the Executive Director and co-founder of VSCC, which is a resource center for veterans, service members and their families who are in Bristol, Burlington, Harwinton, Plymouth, Thomaston, and Wolcott.
