HARTFORD – According to a report from the House Clerk’s Office released last week, State Representative Ben McGorty (R-Shelton) earned a perfect 100% voting record for the 2022 legislative session, which concluded on May 4th.

During the shortened legislative session, 256 pieces of legislation were taken up on the floor of the House of Representatives and Rep. McGorty casting a vote in all of them. Only about 40 percent of legislators earned a perfect voting record in 2022.

“It is a great honor to serve residents of Stratford, Shelton, and Trumbull and I take the responsibility of voting on their behalf very seriously,” Rep. McGorty said. “This year, we discussed and voted on so many bills which directly affect workers, families, first responders, and all residents in the 122nd District and I was proud to fulfill the duty of giving them a voice on these issues.”

Throughout the 2022 legislative session, Rep. McGorty served as co-chair of the bipartisan Fire & EMS Caucus and served as a member of the Public Safety and Security Committee, Regulation Review Committee, and Banking Committee.

The 2023 legislative session will convene in January.
