HARTFORD — On Wednesday, February 7th, State Rep. Ben McGorty returned to the State Capitol in Hartford to open the 2024 Legislative Session. Members of the House of Representatives and Senate were welcomed back to renew their commitment to serving the people of Connecticut. Governor Lamont joined a joint legislature in the House Chamber to deliver his annual budget address and outline his vision and priorities for this session.

Rep. McGorty says that it is an honor to serve the 122nd Assembly District and the people of Shelton, Stratford, and Trumbull.

Rep. McGorty said, “It was great to be back at the Capitol today to kickoff the 2024 Legislative Session! Before Governor Lamont delivered his annual budget address, I was honored to introduce Stratford’s Fire Chief Jermaine Atkinson and his daughter Amyra to a packed House chamber. They received a warm welcome and I am proud to stand with Chief Atkinson. Tomorrow, it’s back to work!”
