Here’s a compilation of some of the many tax changes offered by Governor Lamont in his plan and by legislative Democrats through a recent Finance Committee vote. It remains to be seen which of these ideas will end up in a final budget plan to be voted on by the General Assembly’s full membership.

  • A new 2% Tax on Capital Gains
  • Property Tax Credit – Removed Scheduled Expansion
  • Tax for Rideshare
  • Increase in Sales Tax on Meals
  • 10% Tax Increase on Alcohol
  • Increase Tax rate on Movies 6% to 6.35%

Hartford – State Representative Jay Case (R-Winsted) welcomed Karla Ferrer, who is an accomplished Special Olympics Connecticut (SOCT) athlete, to the House of Representatives on Wednesday, April 24th.
