HARTFORD — A Rep. Christie Carpino co-sponsored bill aimed a improving power plant safety is making its way through the legislature. An Act Adopting Certain Safety Recommendations of the Thomas Commission calls for the implementation of safety measures recommened by the commission in response to an explosion at the Kleen Energy construction site in February 2010. Several people were killed in the blast, which left many more injured. The bill moved through the Energy & Technology Committe on Tuesday, paving the way for a vote before the full House of Representatives.
