HARTFORD – The Connecticut Society for Respiratory Care has selected State Representative Christie Carpino as a “Legislative Champion” for her work in enacting changes and updates to the current scope of practice for Respiratory Care Practitioners.
Representative Carpino worked to see that state laws for Respiratory Care Practitioners were updated to reflect current practice.
Margaret Guerrera MS RRT, President of the Connecticut Society for Respiratory Care, said, “Representative Carpino is a leader in working to see that state healthcare laws are patient friendly. Without her willingness to hear our concerns and support this important endeavor to update our scope of practice, patients in our state might have encountered barriers to the knowledge and technical expertise of highly skilled respiratory therapists. Through concerted efforts such as this, the residents of the State of Connecticut will continue to directly benefit from Representative Carpino’s efforts. We are pleased to recognize her in this regard.”
