November 3, 2021, Cromwell, CT – State Representative Christie Carpino cut the ribbon for “Holiday Village at ReStore”, a pop-up shop being held at the Middlesex Habitat for Humanity ReStore, located at 34 Shunpike Road in Cromwell.

Carpino cut the ribbon at a special “Shop and Sip Preview Night” event, held on Tuesday, November 2, which featured refreshments, music and a swag bag for guests who purchased tickets to the event.

Holiday Village at ReStore offers a wide range of holiday decorations available for sale from November 3 through December 31, 2021. They are also offering an exclusive candle hand-crafted for the shop by Get Lit Candle & Co. of North Branford and a commemorative Middlesex Habitat for Humanity 25th Anniversary ornament by Woodbury Pewter.

The shop is holding an Instant Lottery Ticket Raffle with a grand prize of $1,000 worth of instant lottery tickets. The raffle tickets are $10 and will be available at the ReStore. Only 1250 tickets will be sold. The drawing will be held on December 23, 2021 at 12:00 p.m.

All proceeds from Holiday Village at ReStore will support the work Middlesex Habitat for Humanity is doing in the community.

Holiday Village at ReStore is sponsored by Connecticut Real Estate Closing Attorneys, SERVPRO of Middletown/New Britain, Essex Savings Bank, O, R & L Commercial, LLC, Attorney Valerie Ann Votto, Bogaert Construction Co., Inc., Carlson’s Landing Restaurant, David Evangelisti & Dan Taylor-Stypa and the New Haven Middlesex Association of Realtors.

Middlesex Habitat for Humanity (MHFH) is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International and has been helping to provide safe, decent, affordable homes in Middlesex County for over 20 years. MHFH is an independent, locally run, IRS 501(c) (3) organization, headquartered in Cromwell, CT, and working throughout Middlesex County. Through volunteer labor and tax-deductible donations of money and materials, MHFH brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. They have built or rehabbed over 17 homes and helped dozens of families and individuals. Currently, MHFH is working on their second Veterans Build, a house renovation in Middlefield, CT. We welcome people of diverse backgrounds, beliefs, abilities, races, ethnicity, and sexual orientation in all aspects of our efforts.

The Habitat ReStore opened on Dec. 4, 2010. The ReStore is an environmentally conscious home improvement store that accepts donations of new and gently used items from individuals and businesses in the community and sells those items to the public at a reduced cost. Profits are used to expand home building efforts in Middlesex County. Every dollar of ReStore sales keeps 1.3 lbs. of waste out of landfills and MHFH’s ReStore has kept over 5.2 million tons of items out of landfills. All donations are tax-deductible.
