New Haven – State Representative Christie Carpino (Cromwell & Portland) was recognized by the Radiological Society of Connecticut (RSC) for her outstanding leadership in health care reform and advocacy of patient friendly policies. RSC is made up of active radiologists practicing state wide.

“The delivery of radiological health care services is critical to the health of Connecticut residents,” said Rep. Carpino, who was characterized as a rising star within the legislature by the RSC. “I will continue to support policies that enhance patient access to essential health services.”

Carpino supported legislation which will allow women to access more effective, 3-D mammograms via tomosynthesis. Carpino, a member of the state legislature’s Public Health Committee, also supported a law which requires the Commissioner of the Department of Public Health to review the effect state budget cuts to essential patient services like mammography, along with x-rays and ultrasounds.
