PORTLAND – State Rep. Christie Carpino (R-32) and State Senator Art Linares (R-33) held a successful toy drive outside of Tri-Town Foods IGA to benefit the Community Renewal Team’s in-need Portland families on December 3rd.

The Community Renewal Team helps provides youth and after-school programs for a number of Portland families.

Carpino said, “Our goal is to make sure no child is without a toy this Christmas season. It’s great to see the Portland community come together for those less fortunate. We hope everyone in town has a happy and healthy holiday season.”

Linares said, “Your generosity will bring joy to children throughout our area. We thank Portland residents for their donations.”

“We’re truly grateful for the support of our community and the leadership of our elected representatives,” said Lena Rodriguez, President/CEO of Community Renewal Team. “Money is very tight for our Head Start families, and it’s wonderful that their children will find beautiful gifts like these on Christmas morning!”

Those who could not attend the toy drive but wish to donate can visit the Community Renewal Team at 44 Hamlin St, Middletown, CT 06457 or call (860) 347-4465.
