State Rep. Christie Carpino worked the Penguin Plunge in Middletown Saturday February 25th. Carpino registered plungers and also assisted them once they got out of the water.
The Penguin Plunge is hosted by the Polish Falcons Nest No. 519 on the shore of Crystal Lake, where the 254 participants took the plunge for the cause Saturday. The event raised $61,000 for the Connecticut Special Olympics.
“Many individuals are dedicated and they come back year after year. It’s a major fundraiser for the organization. The money goes to a good cause and people have a good time,” Carpino said.
