CROMWELL — Rep. Christie Carpino and Christian Parisi have something in common: Both know what ingredients a business needs to thrive. Carpino visited Parisi this morning at a Ted’s Restaurant, famous for its steamed burgers. Parisi, manager, works at the restaurant in Cromwell (43 Berlin Road.) With no advertising or official roll out, Parisi helped open the restaurant here (there’s another Ted’s in Meriden) Saturday and sold out both that day and Sunday. Parisi’s recipe for success? He keeps the menu simple: steamed hamburgers, cheeseburgers and hot dogs as well as homemade home fries — food for which the restaurant is famous. Carpino, meanwhile, has spent her time in the state legislature touting her recipe for a better business climate in Connecticut: fewer mandates and less taxes. Carpino and Parisi had a conversation about Ted’s and issues that affect it.
