Here is a list of local events to honor veterans this Veterans Day.

In Cromwell there will be a Veterans Day Ceremony at the Town Hall Gym beginning at 11 a.m.
In Portland there will be a full slate of activities marking Veteran’s Day weekend this year.
- The roster of events begins with the annual Veteran’s Day breakfast at the Ormont Post No. 69 of the American Legion on Freestone Avenue Saturday, Nov. 9, starting at 7:30 a.m.
- The annual “Red, white and blue Mass,” which celebrates the lives of Portland veterans who have died within the past year, will be held in the church beginning at 2 p.m.
- On Monday, Nov. 11, Veterans Day, the town will mark the service of its veterans and active-duty service personnel with the annual wreath-laying.
- The ceremony takes place at 11 a.m. at the Portland Veterans Memorial behind Town Hall. The events conclude with the annual Veterans Day dinner at 6 p.m. Monday.
