Carpino Invites Residents on Portland Hike

PORTLAND- State Rep. Christie Carpino is inviting all area residents on a guided hike of Meshomasic State Forest in Portland on the morning of September 14th.
This hike will be guided by our own John Leshane, founder of the Meshomasic Hiking Club. He has decades of experience and loves to share his knowledge! It will be a 3-4 mile hike and will take a little less than two hours.
“The mission of this hike is two-fold: Encouraging residents to participate in physical activity and also to showcase a great state park right in our back yard in Portland,” said Rep. Carpino.
Carpino is sponsoring this hike as part of the 100th anniversary of Connecticut’s state parks and their contribution to the quality of life for state residents.
We will meet at the Portland Reservoir at 10:00 A.M. Hikers should wear good shoes and socks, preferably hiking boots, and bring their own water and snacks. Dogs are welcome on leash.
We will have to cancel if there is bad weather, check www.cthousegop.com for updates.
