HARTFORD — A group of middle and high school students from Portland met with Rep. Christie Carpino at the Capitol today for a discussion about the inner-workings of state government. The students were in Hartford through Portland Youth Services, an organization committed to the development of a coordinated system of services and programs for youth and their families in the Town of Portland. Specifically, the students had questions about proposed legislation to bolster the state’s bullying laws—a bill that would add cyber-bullying to state statute. Carpino went on to describe the different branches of state government and talked about her efforts in the district.
