CROMWELL- State Rep. Christie Carpino (R-32) attended a groundbreaking ceremony for the new water division building located on the District’s Coles Road property adjacent to the Coles Road Fire Station. The Water Division is under the jurisdiction of the Cromwell Fire District.

The facility will replace the outdated garage which is now located on Nooks Hill Road.

The new 6,000 square foot building will allow the Water Division to house its vehicles and equipment indoors and will include a small office, a meter testing room and interior storage for parts and small equipment.

The Water Division constructs and maintains all water mains and public fire hydrants within the District.

The Water District pumps an average of 548 million gallons a year and supplies 3,796 metered connections within Cromwell’s boundaries. The District also supplies water to the Berlin Water Control Commission. The Water Division is self-sustaining and receives no revenue from property taxes.
