HARTFORD – The 2023 Legislative Session is underway at the State Capitol. State Rep. Christie Carpino (Cromwell/Portland) will begin a new role this session, serving on the Governor’s Council on Women and Girls. She was appointed by House Minority Leader Vin Candelora to the council.

“Christie’s strong advocacy efforts throughout her tenure on women’s issues are a testament to her ability to navigate discussions on these complex topics. Drawing from her unique perspective as a lawmaker, mother, and wife, I have great confidence that Rep. Carpino will make positive contributions to the Governor’s Council on Women and Girls,” said Leader Candelora.

Additionally, Carpino was re-appointed as the House Republican Caucus Chairman and will serve on the Regulations Review, Government Administration & Elections, and the Public Health committees.

“It is a great honor to continue to serve the communities of Cromwell and Portland. This session, I will continue to focus on promoting sound public policy that addresses the skyrocketing cost of living, fostering greater opportunities for residents and businesses to prosper, and increasing access to healthcare for most in need,” said Carpino.

The current law-making period will conclude on Wednesday, June 7. For updates on the action of the legislature, visit www.repcarpino.com.
