    Below you will find important information coming out of the State Capitol this week.

    Residents 45 & Up Eligible for COVID-19 Vaccinations TODAY

    Beginning today, all residents aged 45 and older are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccination. On April 5th, residents aged 16 and older will be eligible.

    New COVID-19 Rules in Place TODAY

    Beginning today, all capacity limits are now eliminated for the following businesses, while face coverings, social distancing, and other cleaning and disinfecting protocols will continue to be required:

    • Restaurants (8-person table capacity and 11PM required closing time for dining rooms continues)
    • Retail
    • Libraries
    • Personal services
    • Indoor recreation (excludes theaters, which will continue to have a 50% capacity)
    • Gyms/fitness centers
    • Museums, aquariums, and zoos
    • Offices
    • Houses of worship

    Gathering sizes are also revised to the following amounts

    • Social and recreational gatherings at private residence – 25 indoors/100 outdoors
    • Social and recreational gatherings at commercial venues – 100 indoors/200 outdoors
    • All sports are allowed to practice and compete, and all sports tournaments will be allowed, subject to Department of Public Health guidance
    • Connecticut’s travel advisory is now recommended guidance as opposed to a requirement.

    CT Department of Revenue Services and U.S. Internal Revenue Services Push Tax Filing Deadlines

    The CT Department of Revenue Services has announced that the deadline to file 2020 state income taxes has been extended to May 17, 2021.

    This announcement comes one day after the federal Internal Revenue Services also pushed tax filing deadlines to May 17.
