The lawmakers joined fellow veterans at the Capitol this week to show their support for SB-289, that would seek to restore $2 million in funding to the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA).

“I stand in full support of my fellow veterans,” Rep. Ackert said. “From those who fought in some of our earliest battles to today’s conflicts, I will continue to support properly funding our veterans and facilities they utilize like the Connecticut Veterans Home and Hospital in Rocky Hill. We as a legislative body should not attempt to balance our budgetary problems on the backs of those men and women who have already been asked to sacrifice so much.”
