(BOLTON) — Last week, I joined the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History to celebrate Bastille Day at Bolton’s Heritage Farm as a part of their “Digging into History: On the Road with Rochambeau” program!
General Rochambeau was a French military leader who supported colonists in the Revolutionary War and camped in Bolton, CT from June 21-25, 1781. Our event paired Connecticut students with French students as they excavated the campgrounds and traced specific soldiers back to the hometowns of our French student participants.
Thank you to State Representative Steve Weir, Pamela Ziegler Sawyer, and all who joined us at the event! I am so proud of our historical society and educators for ensuring that our students preserve and maintain a connection to our history for generations to come.
