HARTFORD – State Representatives Bill Buckbee (R-New Milford) and Christie Carpino (R-Cromwell), along with several other House Republican members, have submitted a proposal that would cut pay to legislators, if the state budget is not passed by the statutory deadline. Opening Day for America’s favorite pastime is here. The rules of the game are basic and understood by everyone. The old adage ‘three strikes and you’re out’ is universally recognized. During the season, your team will win some, lose some, and in a great year, your team gets to play in October. The common goal, regardless of your team, is to achieve victory.
Rules don’t change mid-game or mid-season. Fair play is expected, otherwise all credibility is lost.
Perhaps Connecticut should take a few hints…

HARTFORD – The state legislature’s Labor Committee moved legislation forward that will help individuals recovering from substance abuse find quality employment opportunities. The legislation, co-sponsored by Republican Leader Themis Klarides (R-Derby) and State Representative Christie Carpino (R-Cromwell), was approved to go to the House of Representatives as a result of the committee’s vote on the bill.
