Connecticut State Funding for Flood Recovery (Applications Open on Sept. 3)

HARTFORD – Applications will open on Tuesday, Sept. 3 for $5 million in state funding that has been allocated for a micro-grant program to help small businesses in western Connecticut rebuild and recover from the record rainfall and flooding.

The state has partnered with the Women’s Business Development Council to administer the grant program. The WBDC is administering the grant, but it is open to all qualifying businesses.

Grants of up to $25,000 are available for small businesses and nonprofit

Please see the following information shared by Rep. Bronko in regards to recent flooding:  

In the past 24 hours, Naugatuck, as well as surrounding towns, were impacted by at least 10 inches of rain that fell within a short amount of time. Connecticut has declared a state of emergency in response to the catastrophic flooding, which begins the process for requesting federal funds.

NAUGATUCK – Rep. Seth Bronko, R-Naugatuck, is partnering with the Connecticut Partnership for Children and several local businesses to help those in need through the organization of a diaper drive for local families.

Parents need assistance throughout the year and Rep. Bronko, a father of two, including a newborn girl, is hoping that all residents who can participate will lend a hand during the donation drive.
