NAUGATUCK – Rep. Seth Bronko, R-Naugatuck, recently concluded his Summer Diaper Drive to benefit the Connecticut Partnership for Children, Inc., which
provides new parents with diapers and other needs, as well as aiding people experiencing food insecurity.
The drive led to the collection of more than 1,500 diapers and hundreds of wipes, which were dropped off by Rep. Bronko on Monday.

HARTFORD – Applications will open on Tuesday, Sept. 3 for $5 million in state funding that has been allocated for a micro-grant program to help small businesses in western Connecticut rebuild and recover from the record rainfall and flooding.
The state has partnered with the Women’s Business Development Council to administer the grant program. The WBDC is administering the grant, but it is open to all qualifying businesses.

In the past 24 hours, Naugatuck, as well as surrounding towns, were impacted by at least 10 inches of rain that fell within a short amount of time. Connecticut has declared a state of emergency in response to the catastrophic flooding, which begins the process for requesting federal funds.
