VERNON – State Representative Tim Ackert (R-8) joined Senator Tony Guglielmo (R-35) and Represenative Claire Janowski (D-56) in celebrating the grand opening and ribbon cutting of Loom City Lofts in Vernon October 22, and presented a legislative citation to developers Joe Vallone and Marc Levine.

Loom City Lofts, formally Roosevelt Mills, has been transformed into a modern, loft-style apartment complex with one or two bedroom units available for rent in the coming months. The facility includes a fitness center, community room and beautiful views of the Snipsic Reservoir, the Warp Mills Pond, and the Hockanum River Dam.

“It is such an honor to be here today to witness the completion of this long awaited project,” said Rep. Ackert, who was present at the original groundbreaking in 2010. “For almost thirty years, the Mills had been an eye sore, a public safety problem, and a waste of beautiful space that can be used to grow Vernon’s community. Congratulations to everyone who was involved in making these apartments a reality.”
