Rep. Ackert and American Legion Collecting Weathered U.S. Flags for Retirement

HARTFORD – State Representative  Tim Ackert (R-8) in conjunction with the American Legion Post #52 encourages residents to ‘Retire Your Worn American Flags’ at five drop off locations within the 8th District. Flags will be collected until Wednesday, June 13th. The U.S. Flag Code specifies that old American flags no longer in service must be properly disposed.

The drop-off locations include:
Columbia Town Hall, 323 Route 87.
Coventry Town Hall, 1712 Main Street.
Booth & Dimock Memorial Library (Coventry), 1134 Main Street.
Tolland Fire Station 140, 64 Crystal Lake Road.
Tolland Fire Station 240, 3 Rhodes Road.

A Flag Retirement Ceremony will be held on Flag Day, Thursday, June 14th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 138 Snake Hill Road, Coventry.
