Ackert, Guglielmo Celebrate Former Coventry Legislator

COVENTRY – State Representative Tim Ackert (R-8) and State Senator Tony Guglielmo (R-35) honored former State Representative Joan Lewis as she retired November 4th from her position on the Coventry Town Council.

Mrs. Lewis was presented with a legislative citation introduced by Rep. Ackert, Sen. Guglielmo, and many other members of the legislature that served with her. Over the past 40 years, she has spent 22 years on the Town Council, 8 years as Coventry’s State Representative, 12 years on the Board of Education, and has served on several other boards and committees.

“Joan, you truly exemplify what it means to honorably serve a community,” Rep. Ackert said. “The contributions that you have made to Coventry through your dedicated service are unparalleled. I sincerely congratulate you on your retirement, though I’m sure this isn’t the last we will see of you.”

“Joan Lewis is a dedicated public servant who did her job with a smile on her face and warmth in her heart. I know she will be missed,” Sen. Tony Guglielmo said.
