I want to notify you that the Connecticut Department of Transportation announced they will begin work on the Reconstruction of Route 31 (Main Street) in Coventry on Monday March 14th. There will be an alternating one-way traffic pattern on Route 31, Monday to Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and there will be no weekend work. Please maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.

The project consists of reconstructing Route 31 (Main Street) through the town of Coventry from about 300 feet north of the intersection of Route 275 (Stonehouse Road) to about 1000 feet east of Monument Hill Road, a total distance of approximately 2,100 feet. The goal of the project is to improve safety by eliminating a sharp curve and steep grade on Route 31 just south of its intersection with Route 275 in Coventry.

During the reconstruction efforts by DOT please remember to help support our local businesses along  Main Street.

As always, if you have any questions please feel free to  contact me at  Tim.Ackert@housegop.ct.gov or (860) 240-8700.
